What happens in your browser
All audio is generated in your browser. The settings you choose, the audio and the files you download are not sent to us. We never ask for microphone access. Your theme choice is stored in your browser's local storage and never leaves it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to learn which features are used (for example "dial", "download WAV", "share"). Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. We do not send Google your name, email or any identifier we create. Google's practices are described at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies.
Advertising
The site does not show ads today. If we add them, we would use Google AdSense on content pages (never inside the player). Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ad Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. More: policies.google.com/technologies/ads. We would update this policy before any change.
Affiliate links
We do not currently use affiliate links. If we do, we will label them and say so here.
Embeds
If another site embeds our player, the player page loads from dialupsounds.com and the same analytics apply.
Your rights
We do not sell personal data. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your personal data. Because we hold no account data, most requests are best served by Google's tools above, but you can always email us. Data in Google Analytics is retained for 14 months.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We will update the date at the top when this policy changes.
